Saroj Nayak + 6 Kicks Ride 09
Hello fellow-cyclist,
Here is something you should know.
Saroj Nayak is the proprietor of an event management company - Promotionz on Barakhamba Road, New Delhi. He is organizing a cycling event in NOv/Dec 09 called 6 Kicks Ride 09. On his website indiamtb.com, he claims that the event is associated with IMBA and Haryana Tourism. However, both organizations have disclaimed this association clearly.
Saroj Nayak hired me to do the design and branding for this event. He readily gave me a list of deliverables and agreed on the design charges, even promising a cycle as a gift. After the work was complete (within deadline and to his satisfaction) he paid by cheque and then stopped payment.
Vaibhav Nijhowne has not been paid yet for Sikkim MTB 08, organized by Saroj Nayak and Sikkim Tourism.
Message from IMBA:
Check indiamtb.com
“IMBA has no association with Mr. Nayk. His use of IMBA's logo is unauthorized.”

PO Box 7578, Boulder, CO 80306 USA
ph: 303-545-9011 x102, fax: 303-545-9026”
Saroj Nayk might drop his 'IMBA affiliation' after reading this.
.
Message from Haryana Tourism:
"Haryana Tourism has nothing to do with the event being organised by Saroj Nayak...nor we are in any way involved with the event. This is for your kind information. If you have any address of Saroj Nayak, kindly let us know so that he is proceeded against for misuing the name of Haryana Tourism."
Of course, I have proof of everything written here.

Eating at a resturant and not paying, or filling up at a petrol pump and running away, amounts to stealing and people are put behind bars for such offences. Getting a service done and not paying is equivalent, and the culprit should be treat worse than a petty thief. Because he knows what he’s done.
Being a designer myself, I want to add, that such gentleman thieves must be flogged outside Jantar Mantar, live on TV, so that other such people get a lesson… and pay up in time.

Mr. Nayak, you owe an explanation to the biking community. Do no further damage and please pay up everyone’s dues ASAP.
I tender my blanket apology to Vaibhav and Vineet for suggesting their names for the Sikkim MTB. I hope Sikkim Govt. officials recognize technical team’s inputs and honour their contract.
October 17th, 2009 - 02:53
Dickie, you are the last person who owes anyone an apology!
Although, it would have been nice to have Nayak come up and apologise even once, but I think his intentions are clear on the topic. There were no intentions to make any payments in the first place. And I am running out of patience with him and Sikkim Tourism now. They are all involved and there is no single person to blame for this. But the lack of interest from either side in helping people like me get my payment just goes to show that they believe in free work / publicity and free money at another persons expense. I hope that fate catches up with such people one day.

I am shocked to hear this!
Though i dont know any one of you in person (Other than Dickie sir), i am really sorry for your loss. But believe he is a bigger loss for India’s biking scene. I am not sure but is there any action planned on this?

Who the hell is this guy? Bring him down NOW!! The Indian Bicycling establishment can do without such unprofessional morons! Many cycling events are propping up due to the passion of cyclists around the country willing to put their own resources.
Stick this on every cycling group on Facebook too!!

Unfortuntely, the free-riders like him spoil the reputation of the whole biking community in India, who is woking hard to emerge nationally and internationally (while genuinelly having fun). No wonder the IMBA fully dissociated itself from him. This says it all! Bring him down, before he does any further damage (direct and collateral) to all the great people out there in India who are working hard and cycling strong!
October 18th, 2009 - 00:35
That’s real disturbing news!
The Indian Biking community can as well do away with such people.Haven’t heard of him before but would love to hear his comments on this.

Dear Saroj Nayak,
Dont become a victim of yourself. forget about the thief in the alley, worry about the thief in your mind.

What more would he resort to … This guy is the most obnoxious people I have met … he sweet talks you into things and once he’s done with, he forgets about everything …. Over the years he’s promised and he’s full of conceit … I am sorry to say all this …. but this is the way it is …. sometimes avoiding people is better … Malvika, Vaibhav and Vineet … all of us are with you …. Lets take this to the firefox guys and sort it … If it happens great .. otherwise forget and try to ensure that people who ride and make the cycling thing happen also start avoiding his highness Mr nayak …. the bane …..

Con Man = A con artist, or a person who uses a fraud method known as a confidence trick.
A confidence trick or confidence game (also known as a bunko, con, flim flam, gaffle, grift, hustle, scam, scheme, or swindle) is an attempt to defraud a person or group by gaining their confidence. The victim is known as the mark, and any accomplices are known as shills.

I don’t see any reason why unnecessary cycling community are being drag in to a very personal and professional dispute? There is a Law of the land and would request Malvika, Vaibabh & Vinnet to choose the perfect way if you have any facts and figure.
A personal attack with any person/ institution should not be allowed and would also request all cyclist to be aware of these page3 cyclist as well and check up the credential of the organizer before you join any event.

@sharad:
The reason for this blog-post is just so that everyone KNOWS. If Vaibhav had asked me watch out earlier, I would not have started the project with Saroj Nayk at all.
You say people should check the credentials of the event-organiser. Well, this is how you check. Here are the facts. Please note I have not divulged a lot of other details, just because I don’t have evidence in hand to show for it. This blog-post is not just an indignant rant. It is all facts, backed with proof.
You are not being dragged in. If you don’t want to support, don’t. Thanks to everyone who is taking a stand, making a decision and supporting.
And most of all, we are not cynical and have not given-up on the spirit of the cycling community. There is a pride I take in it, so I wouldn’t just leave it to law of the land. There is a role for us to play in it. Relax, there is no mud-pit wrestling happening, and I agree we must maintain focus on the positive aspects of cycling like the upcoming TFN!

Who is this guy anyway? Some blessed moron who thinks that he is smart enough to have risen the corporate ladder can treat the cycling freternity the way he wnats – he couldn’t be more wrong. The cycling freternity in India is evolving purely from the passion of the cyclists not definitely not from dorks like Mr whatsoever his mane is, who merely want to earn a living dishonestly.
October 19th, 2009 - 03:34
This is terrible indeed. The depths to which some folks will sink to!
October 19th, 2009 - 20:16
pls take a legal action against him, else we all can try the old fashioned mobing him down.
October 22nd, 2009 - 22:00
I hope Dickie bhai and the other cyclist in Delhi makes sure that he gets more than 6kicks from his 6kick bike ride.He doesnt know anything about cycling and the way he organised the Sikkim ride was pathetic, there was no food and more than a biking expedition it was a survival camp.He was trying to save money so much that he was instructing the volunteers not to give water to the riders in between the ride in Sikkim.
October 24th, 2009 - 07:38
Sharad -
The cycling community is not being dragged into a “very personal and professional dispute.” It has already been dragged into it by Mr Nayak’s involvement with MTB Sikkim, and the upcoming 6Kicks ride.
There have been many attempts to resolve this outside of the public view – since this has not been successful, Mavlika has taken the responsibility of making the cycling public aware of this menace to its requtation and experience.
Malbika and Vaibhav (and the others), so sorry you have gotten the short end of the stick. Hopefully the cycling community can stand together in this. DEFINITELY let Firefox know they will be getting a bad reputation by being involved with him!

Beware Vaibhav, “Please understand and settle all the matters before signing for any deal for promoting Biking with Mr. Saroj” but my warning went in vain.
I wonder how the people associated with second edition of MTB Sikkim will get any fees or remunerations, when nayak has not still cleared the accounts of inaugural MTB Sikkim.
Being a fellow rider, I tried to edify Vaibhav about Nayak misdeeds, which not only betrayed all of the organizers, technical officials and Bikers to be a part of MTB expeditions, but also used us for his corrupt and greedy action to siphon huge money in the name of promoting MTB. Even the feed back of Mr. Peter and all and press reports published in the media have not deter nayak to stop his misdemeanor, we all must expose him and stop all his ventures in the name of promoting biking and to play with passionate bikers.
