Reality, Fashion and In-between

---

I am sitting in the Economics class and my head is swimming. The lecturer is saying that keeping your capital and technology constant, if you draw a production curve with increasing labour, the production will increase. But after a while it remains the same because of the law of diminishing returns. And I can just think of the black leather corset that I tried on an hour ago.

I saw a 50%-80% SALE sign on a shop front, on Yonge street, and my steps involuntarily took me inside. The shop was stocked with loads of merchandise. It was the kind of shop to which cowboys, Harley Davidson riders and tomboys would go. Or sluts in front of suburban bars.

There were rows and rows of uninspiring jackets when what do I see hung up as a loner, a single piece..?! A black leather corset with criss cross tie-up laces along the front - a beautiful garment in its simplicity, blackness, mood and style. So basic and so wow. I could imagine wearing it with skinny jeans and stepping out on a party night. Ok, so thats quite a cliched outfit - the corset, jeans and boots, but its got something classic about it.

"...And the average product lies above the margin. When total product in agriculture is maximum then the.."

I looked at that small piece of apparel and hoped that it would be large enough for me - a thought that occurs to me again and again in India where I am very tall and more or less a large person. In the trial room, (The TRIAL room is so aptly called so) I laced up quickly to find that the corset was actually too big for me! All over. Darn! But what a dream..It showed off collarbones and square shoulders so well.

Its a good idea to try on clothes that you generally dont wear because believe me - clothes look very different on the hanger and on the body. If you try on something different and its your lucky day you may end up with a garment that is not only flattering but also opens your mind and you suddenly see yourself differently! One cannot always imagine what one would look like, reject a garment and push it aside to look for other clothes in a shop, namely regular jeans or a glossy but safe button down shirt for party wear.
