Ok guys, due to popular demand I decided to hold a situation test class. It’s going to be stuffed with lots of design tips and time management stuff. Loads of ideas etc. Let’s stop talking and let’s get our hands dirty with fevicol and sheets.. the write-up .. the worx. Let’s get you through that goddamn test.

hi malvika di,..hope i v spelt ur name rite this tym..does coaching with institutions lyk adf make any difference?..do pple undergoing coaching have an edge over pple lyk us?..and is there any way to kno my scores in written test?..and ya is there any limit or restriction on the size of the 3d model to b prepared?..does it matter if its small..lyk for example if i m given the concept of a stage for rock concert, how big does it hav to b?..and does the model hav to look machine made(i mean perfect to that extend)…i m eagerly waiting 4 ur reply….

The size of the model is dependent on the materials available.
Practising for situation test helps of course. Also depends on what ur level is.. how much help you need with time management, tactics etc. Dude.. all this is grey area. Kuch mast banao, dikhao, funde toh chalte rehte hain.

@apala: there is no best course as each leads to different careers. two blog posts on this blog will tell you more on that. 1)design centre and course selection 2)placements
for example with FC u can become a fashion photographer
with FD you can design clothes..
now the Q is – what is it that u want to do for a career?

@apala: yeah FD rocks.. I think that’s the course you should do rather than KDT, TD and LD unless you are clearly focused on those. Because at the end of the year they all produce clothing collections and FD is usually the best.
TD gives you an edge with knowledge in the creation of fabric itself; not just designing clothes with the fabric. LD gives you an edge in leather. KDT gives you an edge in knits like T shirt material etc. So unless you are clear you want to do knits, leather or textile.. head for FD. That’s the one if you just want to design awesome clothes.

your blog is awesome got great help from it…………………………… my air rank is 1073 for this years nift exam….in general category…i am a science student …..and even gave the engenieerin entrance……juss wanted your opinion about how many students do actually get selected on a rough scale fom all ovr india into nift..?and with my rank ..should i hope for something …..?is it better to take fd in ug courses or going for jewelry designin will work for me…..? will it lead to a stable carrer ahead..?or there are risks……..? waiting for your reply mam ……..please o reply……i m in a fix……..please……………

@divya: FD and FC get filled first, Delhi centre. Considering that fact, pls check the no. of seats on the nift website to calculate ’till wat rank can FC be available’.
