(I remember, at school dances this guy who was my friend would take other guys aside and quickly teach them a few steps behind pillars, if they felt they were not impressing the girls they were dancing with. The girls had to field the floor alone, of course, having been left, so unceremoniously, on the floor for a quick dance lesson!)

Porter introduced the business world to SWOT and PEST. These are two techniques that companies use to analyse themselves and then decide what actions they will take in future in order to progress.
I think that SWOT and PEST should be used by individuals. People can use them to see what they want to do with their lives, especially when they are choosing their career paths or the next step for professional progress.

My school, La MArtiniere at Lucknow, has a ‘Blue Lady’ that, apparently, walks around at night, especially on the drawbridge over the moat around the college turrets. Her purpose or unfinished business remains a mystery.. (more…)
